The primary annual program

Seven visits. One seasonal plan.

The 7-Step Lawn Program pairs fertilization with pre- and post-emergent weed control across seven annual visits. Insect and fungus treatment, aeration, and soil services remain separate add-ons.

The full breakdown

Every step, on schedule.

01
Spring

Spring Pre-Emergent

Your lawn's first line of defense. Applied in early spring, this treatment creates a protective barrier in the soil that stops weed seeds before they ever get the chance to germinate — setting the stage for a clean, weed-free season ahead. Your payoff: A cleaner start to the growing season.

02
Spring

Spring Weed Control

For the weeds that slip through, we follow up with a targeted spring treatment that knocks out summer weeds already taking root — keeping your lawn looking sharp as the growing season ramps up. Your payoff: Weed control that follows prevention.

03
Early Summer

Fertilizer 1

A complete, balanced, slow-release feeding applied in early summer to fuel deep root growth and rich, consistent color — nourishment your lawn can draw on for weeks, not days. Your payoff: Steady nutrition for active turf growth.

04
Mid-Summer

Summer Weed Control

Mid-summer brings tough invaders like crabgrass, sedges, and kyllinga. This application takes them head-on, with spot treatment for broadleaf weeds, so your turf stays thick, green, and uncrowded through the heat of the season. Your payoff: Turf that stays thick, green, and uncrowded through the heat.

05
Late Summer

Fertilizer 2

A second balanced feeding in late summer keeps your lawn's energy reserves strong, helping it hold its color and resilience as it heads into fall. Your payoff: Color and resilience through the seasonal transition.

06
Fall

Fall Pre-Emergent

Just as effective as its spring counterpart, this application shuts the door on winter weed germination before it starts — protecting your investment through the cooler months ahead. Your payoff: Protection through the cooler months.

07
Winter

Winter Weed Control

A precise post-emergent treatment that targets Poa annua and any broadleaf weeds that manage to germinate, keeping your lawn clean and healthy all winter long. Your payoff: A cleaner, healthier lawn through winter.

The GLS Turf Commitment

We stand behind the work we do — not the variables we don't control.

Quality Applications, Every Time.

Every treatment is applied by trained technicians using the right product, at the right rate, at the right time in the season — no shortcuts.

Responsive Communication.

If you have a question, a concern, or notice something that doesn't look right, we'll respond promptly and show up to assess it.

We'll Make It Right.

If we ever miss an application, apply something incorrectly, or fall short of our own standards, we'll return to correct it at no additional cost.

Honest Expectations.

We'll tell you plainly what our program can and can't do, and we'll flag issues outside our program's scope (like irrigation problems or mowing height) as soon as we spot them, so you can address them.

Turf health is a partnership. Results depend on factors outside our applications — proper mowing height and frequency, adequate watering, soil conditions, and weather. Because of that, we don't guarantee specific outcomes like "zero weeds" or "green by June." What we do guarantee is that our program is applied correctly, consistently, and backed by a team that's responsive when you need us.

Pre-Emergent

Pre-emergent goes down twice a year, spring and fall, before each season's weeds germinate. Both applications are part of the 7-Step Program.

Quick answers

Questions, answered.

How often should I treat / mow / fertilize my lawn?
It depends on the service. Fertilization and weed control runs on a 7 application cycle spread across the year. Mowing frequency shifts with the season — weekly during peak growth, less often in cooler months. We'll happily give recommendations based on your grass type conditions.
What is included in the 7-Step Program?
The standard program includes fertilization plus pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control. The visits are timed through the season to help prevent weeds before they germinate and treat weeds that are already taking root.
What is not included in the 7-Step Program?
Insects, Fungus, mowing, or irrigation management. Pest and Disease issues such as insect problems or fungus problems are not included within the 7 steps. However, we can treat them if the need presents itself. We inspect for these potential issues at each visit and can alert you if we notice any warning signs.
What should I expect after my first treatment?
Turf management is a long game, not a quick fix. Grass grows slowly, and our 7-Step Program is a maintenance program — it's built to protect and steadily improve a lawn's health over time, not to instantly repair damage that's already there. If your lawn has existing issues — bare patches, compaction, disease, or years of neglect — those problems didn't happen overnight, and they won't disappear overnight either. Our applications work with your lawn's natural growth cycle, which means it can take a full season (sometimes longer) before you start to see real, noticeable results. The good news: consistency pays off. Lawns on a steady program get stronger, greener, and more resilient year over year. Patience in year one sets the foundation for the results you're after in year two and beyond. After the first visit, a customer will receive a confirmation text containing any further instructions after the visit. We will also leave a sign in the yard, so you'll know we were there.
Are treatments safe for kids and pets?
Yes. We offer treatment options designed to be safe for kids and pets once dry. We will communicate clearly before and after application for your peace of mind.
What areas do you service?
We proudly serve Lexington, Gilbert, Leesville, Columbia, Irmo, Chapin, Prosperity, Newberry, Blythewood, Forest Acres & more! Not sure if you're in range? Enter your address on our quote form or give us a call at 803-446-3371 and we'll confirm.
